Privacy policy

What we collect

Nothing. Vidstop has no account, no servers, no analytics, and no third-party code. It doesn't send anything over the internet, so Mason Systems, the developer, never receives your videos, your splits, or information about how you use the app.

What stays on your device

• Splits. Each split you save holds the name you type, the time, the start and end frames, and the date. Vidstop stores them in a database inside the app on your device.
• Videos. Videos you record or open stay on your device. Videos in your photo library stay there.

If you back up your device to iCloud or a computer, iOS includes Vidstop's data in that backup, the same as any other app's data.

Camera, microphone, and photos

Vidstop asks for these permissions only to do its job on your device:

• Camera and microphone: to record video in the app.
• Photo library: to open a video you already have. Vidstop reads the original file so that slow-motion times are correct.

If a video you open is stored in iCloud, iOS downloads it from Apple to your device. That transfer is between your device and Apple; Vidstop doesn't see or send anything. You can change these permissions at any time in the Settings app.

Sharing

A split video leaves your device only when you share it with the iOS share sheet. You choose the app or person that receives it, and that app's own privacy policy applies from there. The shared video shows the time and the timer, not the split's name.

Purchases

Vidstop is free to try, and then an in-app purchase keeps it working. Apple processes the purchase. We never receive your name, your email address, or your payment details.

Information Apple shares with us

If you turned on Share with App Developers in iOS Settings, Apple sends developers crash reports and usage statistics that Apple collects. These reports don't include your videos or splits. Apple's privacy policy covers that data.

Tracking and advertising

Nothing in the app is sold, shared for advertising, or used to track you across other apps or websites. Vidstop shows no ads.

Children

Parents and coaches often use Vidstop to time young athletes. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data about children.

Deleting your data

• To delete one split, swipe left on it in the Saved list and tap Delete.
• To delete everything Vidstop stores, delete the app from your device.
• Videos in your photo library stay there until you delete them in the Photos app.

We hold no copy of your data, so there's nothing for us to delete on our side.
